Courtesy of reverbnation.com......12 months in the making - some of the bands that have come through our doors in the last 12 months.....from acoustic to grindcore....watch out!!!
Check out one of the tracks from the live showcase night at the Stourbridge Rock Cafe 2000 - Aceldama (www.myspace.com/aceldamabham).
More to come....this is a reference track for the band to access :o)))). Live recording by Andy Ward of replicantlive, mixed by Si Reeves of Framework Studios, pics by Pete at Daemon Photography - all based at Musoplex - Oldbury.

Well, we are nothing if not completely unpredictable...:o). Having formed a label earlier this year to help promote some of the many bands that come through our doors we released new and remastered work from The Cubans - a well-known and well-loved indie band from Wolverhampton (www.thecubans.co.uk or www.musoplex.com).
So what next? I know...metal....heavy metal.....really quite heavy metal indeed....osmium in fact for all you metallurgists out there.....a big 'Hi' :o).
Skullfox are a bunch of enthusiastic and talented kids, seriously, kids!!! They have no right to be producing stuff as well written and played (all the instrumentation is 1-take live!!!) material. Bless 'em - let's see how they develop eh.
Cheers y'all.

The artwork is done (thanks Peej) the mastering is done (thanks me!) and the CDs are being duplicated (thanks CopySound).
All that remains is to upload the artwork and to tell you that Skullfox are on www.myspace.com/skullfox

Interesting times at the studio - that's why we opened it...
We are just about entering our second year after the build of the new place and it seems life forever ago and just last week all at once. Spend too long thinking about it and my head turns to fog....
The Skullfox artwork is done and awaiting band approval - all songs will also be remastered prior to pressing - although they are still sounding hot after 2 months and a revisit - which is always pleasing :o)
Pete is just finishing his videos for Telegramme before moving onto some more artwork design for The Dreaming Tree.
We have our promoters in place to help us kill off the whole robbing BOTB concept from Autumn 2008 - keep watching.
Andy's recording of Evangeline's Easy Now went top 5 (from over 25, 000 acoustic songs) in some online acoustic charts whose name evades me at the mo but I'll look it up later - still....very nice for all concerned! :o)
Monday and Tue this week sees 60% of the legendary Nightingales in to pre-prep record new material before flying off to take it to the other band members - how cool a lifestyle does that sound?
Hidden in here is a huge congrats to Alex too....well done buddy.....I believe the contacts are signed today?
So now I am off on a week's holiday and you are all up to date. If anybody needs anything - call or e-mail the other 2 - but don't expect anything before midday - these guys are serious artists and should be treated as such!!!!! :o)
See you all soon.

.....we updated our studio montage....
Hey, hey....thanks to John Czerepaninec and The Cubans we have been interviewed by Central TV and on the telly for the last few nights getting ready for the launch of our new single and album at The Varsity in Wolverhampton on 24th May (TOMORROW!!!).
You can see the interview in full here...

Thanks to all involved in rushing these videos through and a massive thanks to Central TV for the exposure and video editing and Pete Rhead (Abstract Reaction at Musoplex) and John for the filming and Si Reeves for the audio. And of course the mighty CUBANS!!!

Evangeline - a reformed mix of Ian Babinton and Pete Raj from Leicester were in for a live acoustic set recording a few weeks ago and look set to release 'Easy Now' and others on an EP in June.
The session was recorded by Andy Ward, engineered by Si Reeves and Andy, mixed and mastered by Andy in a 4 hour studio session followed by 6 hours of studio time engineering the 7 tracks recorded in the session.
Personally, we were well happy with the session, they were excellent musicians and songwriters and thoroughly enjoyable company to wile away a Sunday afternoon with.
So - here is a preview - Easy Now is a beauty of a song and still an in-car CD favorite.

Pete - our martyr to the cause - has spent 3 months growing a beard for 2 minutes of footage in a video for Summer's Day by Last Under The sun (available on Iron Man Records).
Now his work is almost done and next weekend comes the comedy film 'Get That Butt-Ugly Beard Off - It Reeks Of The Docks' and heralds the welcome return of 'Handsome Pete' (as he is known down the docks!). Just kidding ladies - he is cute under that beard and nobody has wanted him since 2 weeks into the growth...now's your time to bag a handsome, intelligent, shaven and house-trained artist :o)). Send all requests marked 'I Want Peej' to musoplex@gmail.com and I will act as his lady distribution centre for the forseeable future.
But I digress....this is a great combination of visuals and a storyline taken from a short film idea woven into a piece for Mark Badger at Iron Man Records. A sincere thanks to all those that came out to help.
Cheers
Andy
